Mobile App· iOS & Android· UX Research Bake Basket A mobile e-commerce app that lowers the barrier to baking by replacing full ingredient shopping with pre-portioned kits. Designed around the insight that beginner bakers drop off before they start.

Heuristic Eval· UX Research· Transit prestocard.ca A heuristic evaluation of the Add Funds flow on prestocard.ca. I identified usability gaps, mapped them against Nielsen's 10 heuristics, and delivered prioritized fixes for where the experience breaks down most.

Game UI· UI Redesign· Onboarding Electronic Arts Low early retention rates pointed to a first impression problem. We redesigned the onboarding and character customization experience of a nearly decade-old game whose UI had long stopped serving the players using it.

Brand Identity· Product Design· Merch Orcas An end-to-end brand identity for a competitive volleyball organization. Developed the full visual system from brief to final deliverables, including logo suite, color palette, type system, and jersey design.

Hi there, I'm Katie!

I'm a Toronto-based UI/UX designer with a background in Game Design. During my years working in the mobile games industry, I've worked on many different things including 2D art, concept work, promotional material, UI design, and user testing.

During my time in games, I found myself really drawn to the UI/UX side of things. I loved digging into where things weren't working for users and finding ways to make the experience better. It felt natural to me and just felt like the right fit, so I decided to transition into UI/UX and make it my focus.

With my background in art, it gave me a strong foundation for the visual craft side of design. And pairing that with user research and identifying opportunities in the experience is what shapes how I approach UI/UX work today.

In my free time I love staying active! I spend most of my time taking dance lessons and playing volleyball. ✨
